TAK initiates mass production of eco-friendly meta-aramid 'Dope-Dyed' for the first time in Korea
Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) will mass produce eco-friendly aramid dope-dyed that does not require dyeing process while expressing its own color by adding pigments to the polymer for the first time in Korea.
The aramid dope-dyed, developed this time, are considered eco-friendly materials that can save water resources as well as reduce dyeing costs and time because they are colored from the raw material stage and do not require additional dyeing processes that use a large amount of water. It also has stable characteristics with less color deformation due to external factors such as sunlight and washing.
TAK has succeeded in mass-producing raw materials based on continuous investment in Aramid business and accumulated technology, thus having a high-level product structure that encompasses aramid staple fiber, filament, fibrid, and paper.
The aramid dope-dyed is expected to contribute to improving the safety of workers in various fields as they have optimal characteristics for combat suits that require flame retardancy(navy uniform, army tank uniform) and functional work clothes that require heat resistance and insulation(electricity, oil refining and steel).
TAK is planning to expand its use of aramid businesses that have various product lines such as staple fiber, filament and paper while responding quickly to customer needs.
