Award-winning achievements

Chair Professor Jongseung Kim has developed the world's first Theranostic technology that can selectively diagnose and treat tumors. This technology combines fluorophores with novel small molecules to target cancer cells and cancer stem cells.

Developing environmentally friendly drug delivery system (DDS) materials and combining and administering drugs is expected to maximize the delivery of drugs and lay the foundation for patient-friendly, painless treatment.

Chair Professor Kim is expected to lead a paradigm shift in the development of anti-cancer drugs. He plans to introduce original technology for targeted anti-cancer drugs, as well as lead related technologies. This will help improving the quality of human life.

Through this, he entered the anticancer drug market and generated substantial economic value. By cultivating talent, he enhances the competitiveness of domestic anticancer medicines and contributes to the development of the healthcare industry.

To date, he has published over 650 peer-reviewed research papers in top journals, amassing over 68,000 citations and achieving an H-index of 133. He has also registered over 100 intellectual property rights and has been recognized as one of the "Top 1% of the World's Most Influential Scientists" by the Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) list for eleven consecutive years, from 2014 to 2024. His contributions have played a pivotal role in advancing national science and technology.
