Eligibility

A person who is a national of the Republic of Korea and belongs to a domestic university, research institute, etc.
Scientists and engineers working in the field of chemistry and materials
As of the recruitment announcement date, those who have been in the field for less than 10 years after obtaining a doctoral degree
Those who do not have history of support from other institutions for the project (No duplicate Application is allowed)
Those who work or (employed) full-time at the affiliated institution

    Up to KRW 50 million per project for up to three years

Review process

  • Application Submission (April-June)
    Download the application guidelines and submit an application by email
  • Document Review and Collective Examination by the Review Committee (July)
    Review Committee of each academic field screens the applicant's documents and selects three times the number of applicants
    Review Committee comprises five or more eminent scientists, each in basic and applied areas.
  • Preparation for the Presentation
    (July-August)
    The Foundation requests presentation based on the creativity and originality of the research project and the applicant's prospects and character for applicants who have passed the first round of review.
  • Final review by Steering Committee (August)
    Steering Committee decides the final selection through presentations and in-depth interviews for applicants who have passed the first round of review.
    Steering Committee comprises multiple eminent scientists.
  • Approval and Awards of winners (October)
