Award-winning achievements
Professor Heejin Kim's research project is to achieve a direct polarity reversal reaction by creating acyl anion intermediates with metal atoms introduced into carbon while maintaining carbon-oxygen double carbonyl bonds and quickly utilizing the short life medium for synthetic reactions before being consumed by negative reactions.
A novel synthesis technology that utilizes carbonyl group carbon as a nucleophile can be applied to synthesizing bioactive substances such as natural products and various organic material compounds. In addition, if the research results that can save the reaction step are applied empirically, it should have a significant ripple effect in academia and industry and be helpful in the synthesis process in field industries. In addition, it has the advantage of being more efficient than the existing synthesis method and developing various automated production processes for pharmaceutical raw materials.
Through this, it is possible to preoccupy new production processes for future pharmaceutical production markets. This study will redefine the concept of organic reactions based on the partial charge of carbon and oxygen in the carbonyl group. In addition, using an electrophile is expected to expand the universality of research by converting it into various compounds.
