Professor Byun Hyun-soo of School of Chemical Engineering at Chonnam National University was selected as fourth winner of the 2024 Toray Chemical Engineering Award establisehd by Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK).

Professor Byun Hyun-soo of School of Chemical Engineering at Chonnam National University was selected as fourth winner of the 2024 Toray Chemical Engineering Award establisehd by Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK).

The Award ceremony was held at General meeting of the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers held at the ICC Jeju International Convention Center on April 25.

Professor Byun was awarded the Toray Chemical Engineering Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements as follows:

◆ Achieving world-class performance in the fields of supercritical fluid processing and separation processing
◆ Establishment of a platform to advance the petrochemical industry in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex
◆ Contributing to industry-academic cooperation by writing a book on informatization of industrial field data

Professor Byun said he was pleased to be recognized for his achievements and added that he will continue to achieve meaningful results in the field.

Toray Chemical Engineering Award was established in 2021 to contribute to the development of chemical engineering in Korea and Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers selects the winners and awards 10 million won in prize.
