Groundbreaking Ceremony for the expansion of PPS Unit 2 at Gunsan Plant

Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK) held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the expansion of PPS unit 2 at the Gunsan plant On February 21, 2022.

The Groundbreaking ceremony was held with around 100 people in attendance, including Governor of Jeollabuk-do Kwan-young Kim, Head of Saemangeum Development Agency Gyu-hyun Kim, Mayor of Gunsan Im-Joon Kang, and Toray President Nikkaku Akihiro, TAK Chairman Young-gwan Lee, and CEO Hae-sang Jeon.

The Gunsan Plant, which has an integrated production system from raw materials to resins and compounds for the first time in the world, plans to expand PPS resin by 5,000 tons this time, securing the largest production scale in Korea with a total of 13,600 tons and contributing to the stabilization of the supply chain.

In his commemorative speech, President Jeon said He would lead the global market with the best quality and differentiated technology, and that he would strengthen cooperation with upstream and downstream companies to develop related industries and grow together with the local community.
