President Jeon gives a lecture at the KIChE and awards Toray Chemical Engineering Prize

President Jeon Hae-sang gave a special lecture at the 2021 Spring General Assembly and Academic Conference of the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers held at BEXCO in Busan from April 21st to 23rd.

On the 22nd, President Jeon gave a lecture on ‘Innovation by chemistry’ at ‘Conversation with CEO : Passion & Challenge’ and introduced companies and businesses, thoughts of passion and challenge and vision of the company.

Participants who listened to the lecture sympathized with President Jeon's sincere lecture and responded greatly by asking questions about the business field and vision of Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK).

Meanwhile, the newly established Toray Chemical Engineering Prize Award ceremony was held at the General Assembly to contribute to the academic and technological development of the chemical engineering field.

The Toray Chemical Engineering Prize selects one outstanding scientist in the field of chemical engineering every year and awards 10 million won in prize money.

Park Jin-ho, a professor of chemical engineering at Yeungnam University, was recognized for his contribution to the development of the domestic chemical engineering and material industry through active industry-academic cooperation activities based on research on semiconductors/display, solar cells, nanomaterials and secondary batteries.

TAK established the Toray Polymer Award and sponsored the Korea Polymer Association, and is making various efforts to develop Korea Toray's science and technology awards, research funds, and science scholarships through the Korea Toray Science Foundation.
