Toray Advanced Materials Korea (CEO and President Kim Young-seop) has been recognized for its sustainable export control competitiveness by obtaining AAA, the highest grade for a internal compliance trader, from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for three times in a row.

Designated as a internal compliance trader in 2011, Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK) has obtained AAA, when switching to the internal compliance trader rating system in 2014, and achieved the highest grade total three times in following 2019.

TAK pioneered the era of mass production of carbon fiber for the first time in Korea. Since then, it established a internal compliance management system to prevent export control, including carbon fiber, from flowing into countries of concern, providing a full range of services from customer transaction inquiries to product shipment, customs clearance, and follow-up management.

President Kim Young-seop said, “Managing export control goes beyond the issue of corporate survival to protecting the national economy and security,” and added that "TAK will contribute to creating a healthy export ecosystem by improving the management system and complying with performance obligation.”

TAK not only received the highest grade three times in a row, but also received commendations from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy four times for its contribution to establishing a internal compliance system at national-level.

An internal compliance trader refers to a company that has a management system necessary for export management of strategic materials and can voluntarily implement export controls such as strategic material determination and permit applications. Depending on management ability, it is classified into three levels: A or AA or AAA.
