TORAY holds Korea press conference: Plan to expand investment to Korea 1 Trillion Won by 2020
Akihiro Nikkaku, President of TORAY and Lee Young-kwan, President of the Korea Toray Group held a press conference at the Plaza Hotel, Seoul, on the 19th and announced plans to expand their business investment in Korea.
First, President Nikkaku announced the AP-G (Growth) 2019 strategy, which includes Toray's mid-term business plans and investment plans in Korea. Toray Group plans to invest 1 trillion won in Korea by 2020. He mentioned the Korea Toray Group to be an indispensable business base, running businesses as PPS and spunbond. Also, He emphasized plans to utilize advanced materials and core technologies to solve global problems and create new demand.
Next, President Lee announced plans to expand social contribution in addition to business investments of each company in Korea. President Lee emphasized the growth of the Korea Toray Group from annual sales of 2.8 trillion won to annual sales of 5 trillion won by 2020 through this strategy.
In addition, the Korea Toray Group has established the Korea Toray Science Foundation and announced that it will contribute to the development of science and technology in Korea through funding research on basic science including chemistry, and nurturing next generation talent. Also, the Korea Toray Society Volunteer organization, in which all employees participate, will be established to expand community service.
